His current projects include the dramatic faith-based anthology Series, L.I.G.H.T. (Living In God’s Hands Today). Jeff is the co-creator, writer, director, and executive producer. Light tells the true, real-life stories of miracles in everyday people’s lives through God’s miraculous and supernatural power. LIGHT is hosted by actor/director Kevin Sorbo (God’s Not Dead, Miracle In East Texas, Andromeda) who also serves as co-executive producer. L.I.G.H.T.’s first season will be comprised of eight inspirational, awe-inspiring and thought-provoking episodes. Jeff wrote and produced the pilot for The End aka John Doe which is currently being developed as a science-fiction/drama series for streaming/television. John Doe is the story of a homeless man living on the streets of Los Angeles who has visions of the future, and uses them to save people on the gritty streets of downtown LA.
The series stars Martin Kove (Cobra Kai, Karate Kid films) Crystal Allen (Days of Our Lives, Star Trek: Enterprise) and Jeff Rector (American Horror Story). The End won the Silver Screen Award from the Nevada Film Festival. Other notable festivals include Cayfilm (Cayman Islands), Big Island Film Festival, Big River Film Festival, The Swedish International Film Festival, Sunscreen Film Festival, First Glance Film Festival and the Long Island Film Festival.
Jeff’s comedic web series Trumped!, which he created, wrote, directed, produced and Starred in for two seasons, was “In Consideration” for multiple Emmy Awards in both 2019 and 2020 in the “Best Dramatic Short Form Series”, “Best Direction For A SHort Form Series” and “Best Leading Actor In A Short Form Series”.
Jeff’s projects include award-winning feature films, documentaries, web series and short films. His first film Fatal Kiss, (a vampire-themed dark comedy) won a variety of festival awards and is one of the few short films ever acquired by HBO in its 45-year history. With the success of Fatal Kiss, Jeff created new characters and storyline and expanded it into the feature film, Revamped which touts an all-star cast and is still streaming on multiple platforms worldwide.
Jeff’s first documentary film, Who Is Jeff Rector? starts out as a documentary on its writer, director and producer but quickly switches gears to focus on the lives of four complete strangers, a San Diego Lawyer, a Christian Youth Minister and a Rodeo Cowboy. The only thing they all share in common? Their names are all Jeff Rector. Who Is Jeff Rector? recently won awards at the Houston WorldFest “Platinum Award” for “Best Short Documentary”, “Grand Prize Winner” at the Golden State Film Festival and “Best Short Documentary” at The Brazil International Film Festival. Other notable festival selections include Docs Without Borders, Prisma Film Festival, Best Shorts Competition, Queen Palms International Film Festival, Depth of Field International Film Festival and the Burbank International Film Festival.
Jeff’s other projects include a variety of films, television/streaming series and pilots. Current projects in various stages of development. Projects include two comedic films, the ski and snowboarding comedy “SnowBunnies” (“Animal House” at a ski resort), the hilarious comedy, “Tired of Waiting” about a group of misfit waiters trying to be “discovered” in Hollywood and the science-fiction/underwater/action adventure, “Deadly Descent” with writer/director/producer Sheldon Lettich (“Double Impact”, Lionheart”, “Rambo III”).
