Acting Biography
Jeff Rector is an award-winning actor and has appeared in over 150 television shows and feature films. Jeff can currently be seen in the Christmas comedy, Holiday Twist opposite Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings), the horror film Red Tide Massacre opposite Michael Pare’ (The Philadelphia Experiment) and Dwayne Whitaker (Pulp Fiction) and the sci-fi/action/adventure, Ape vs Mecha Ape opposite Tom Arnold (True Lies). Other recent releases include co-starring roles in The Demarco Crew (an Oceans 11 type heist film), the drama Coincidental Romance, the comedies Save the Wedding and A Christmas Love for Hallmark Channel and Dangerous Snow Day for Lifetime.
Jeff co-starred with Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers, Sleepy Hollow) and Jeff Fahey (The Hollow, Legends of Tomorrow) in the World War II action film Sunset Glory: Doolittle’s Heroes about the real-life battle in the Pacific following the attack on Pearl Harbor. He co-starred in the sci-fi/action film Bermuda Tentacles for SYFY opposite Linda Hamilton (Terminator films), John Savage (Deer Hunter) and actor/comedian, Jamie Kennedy as well as the HBO family comedy, Alone in the Woods with Michael Madsen.
On television, Jeff co-starred on an episode of Ryan Murphy’s hit series, American Horror Story and also in his series, Feud: Bette & Joan portraying actor William Powell opposite Emmy Nominated actress, Susan Sarandon who played Bette Davis. Other credits include the soap operas The Bold & The Beautiful and One Life To Live and sitcoms like How I met Your Mother, Everybody Hates Chris, True Jackson VP and Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels. Jeff also had a recurring role in the award-winning web series, The Admired where Jeff won the award for Best Supporting Actor.
Other notable roles include Murder for Spike-TV and the pivotal character in the NYPD Blue episode that won Gordon Clapp an Emmy Award. Jeff played the Mayor of Neptune on the first season of Veronica Mars. Other credits include, Punk’d, and Beverly Hills 90210. Jeff’s devotion to the genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror have led to Guest Starring roles on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Sliders, and a recurring role on the SYFY action series Black Scorpion adapted from the popular comic book.
Jeff Produced and Hosted SFN: Science Fiction News, a popular news/entertainment series on PBS. Shows included interviews with Celebrity Guests, and covered all aspects of entertainment in the genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror. Shows covered Red Carpet Premieres, Fan Conventions and everything that’s hot on television, film and new media.
Jeff continues to host his own Podcast, “Out There with Jeff Rector” which focuses on the genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror. Jeff also Executive Produced, Wrote, Directed and Starred in Trumped!, a hilarious look at President Trump, all the oddball characters working in The White House in his first year in office.
Jeff graduated from Moorpark College with a degree in Speech & Telecommunications. As an actor, he starred in several of Moorpark’s theatrical productions and was recruited by their award-winning Speech Team (rated one of the top Speech programs in the nation), and became a State and National Speech champion. As a communications major, honed his talent as a writer, director, producer and editor of his own video productions, which now serve him as a multi award-winning filmmaker.
